Building Rituals with Your Kids

With two children and a full calendar, I rely on micro-rituals: a shared playlist after school, Sunday tea, and nightly wins. These small moments build a sense of safety and belonging that lasts all week.

A simple ritual plan

  1. Pick a time that already exists (school pickup, bedtime, dinner).
  2. Add one repeatable action (song, question, or shared snack).
  3. Keep it short and consistent.

Rituals do not have to be fancy. They just need to be reliable.
